POKHARA – TO THE LAKES AND THE ANNAPURNA MOUNTAINS

It’s hard to describe Pokhara without being romantic. Just imagine. A great gleaming lake, surrounded by green hills and the snow-capped Annapurna mountains like sleeping giants as the backdrop. The place is buzzing with hippy, athletic types in their ethnic clothing and fully loaded backpacks, the sky is dotted with paragliders, there’s trendy cafes and yoga retreats at every corner offering relief for the mind and body. FUN THINGS TO DO IN KATHMANDU

For me Kathmandu used to conjure images of epic mountains, hippy trekkers, Tibetan monks and Michael Palin. I had never really thought of it as a place for families, but having spent over a week here I can definitely say I’ve been proven wrong. There is so much to see beyond the incredible landscape and places to visit if you can put up with the clouds of dust that shroud the city. That I have to say is the one massive downside.
